Large Residential Developments

Residential and mixed-use developments give us the opportunity to bring thoughtful design into the everyday lives of the people who use, live in and move through these environments. Whether we are creating individual homes, apartment schemes or mixed-use infill developments, our focus is always on contextual design — responding to the character of the site, the wider setting and the community it sits within. We frequently work in Conservation Areas and sensitive historic locations, and our approach allows new buildings to feel contemporary and purposeful while still contributing positively to the existing townscape.

Our work ranges from single dwellings to large multi-unit schemes, as well as projects that combine residential, commercial and community uses. We integrate our architectural, planning and landscape expertise to create developments that feel coherent, well-proportioned and grounded in place. Above all, we design environments that support modern living without compromising the character, identity or heritage of the areas we work in.

Projects

Riverside Meadow, Shrewsbury

The site of Shrewsbury Town football ground since the turn of the 20th century, the site was acquired by developers when the club relocated. Permission was obtained for 179 residential units, developed around open sided squares in the form of crescents and terraces.

Century House, Shrewsbury

Following lengthy negotiations with English Heritage, along with a full scheme of archaeological investigations in the vicinity of the old town wall, the demolition of the existing building was approved to form 15 apartments with commercial use on the ground floor.

Blackfriars, Shrewsbury

An extremely sensitive site within the conservation area; located on Town Walls and within close proximity to the Old Royal Salop Infirmary and Council House Court. We designed the development of 45 apartments to fit sensitively into the surrounding area.

The Mount, Chepstow

Standing on the outskirts of the historic town of Chepstow, The Mount dates from the late 18th to the early 19th century. We developed the house to comprise of 4 residential dwellings and the grounds to complete 20 new-build apartments, positioned to provide a courtyard.
