Ecclesiastical and Conservation

Our work in the ecclesiastical and conservation sectors is rooted in respect — for history, for craftsmanship and for the communal role these buildings play. We have worked on churches and historic structures across multiple grades, delivering condition surveys, detailed repair strategies, fabric conservation and carefully considered upgrades. These projects require patience, specialist knowledge and a steady hand, all of which we bring through decades of experience.

We treat each building as part of a larger cultural story. Repairs and conservation works are carried out using traditional skills and appropriate materials, while any new interventions are designed to sit quietly and respectfully alongside the historic fabric. Our aim is always to support the long-term future of these buildings, ensuring they remain safe, viable and valued by their communities.

Following two successful applications for funding from the First World War Memorial Fund, Phase I of the works focussed on improving the principal access and entrance into the Cathedral, making the same entrance accessible for all.

The Lincoln Castle Revealed project was a five year, £22m, Heritage Lottery Funded project to oversee the restoration to transform the site into a world-class attraction. Our appointment we were involved us in all aspects of the design and construction process.

Mardol, Shrewsbury

A Grade II* Listed, timber frame building dating circa 1600. Following extensive repairs to the building the original front elevation was reinstated with a pair of double height bay windows. This iconic building now houses a popular Champagne bar.

St Mary’s Church, Westbury

We oversaw the completion of an award-winning repair to the oak roof structure, reinstating the early scheme that had been covered by a barrel vaulted ceiling by the Victorians. Following completion, remaining funds were available for repairs to the tower.
