Following pre-application discussions with the planning authority, the project was deliberately structured as three separate but interrelated submissions, allowing each element to be assessed on its own planning and heritage merits while forming a coherent overall strategy for the property.

The orangery, together with the conversion of the existing garage to a dining room, has also been approved and forms a key component of the open-house concept. Rather than reading as a standalone addition, the orangery acts as a new focal space between the kitchen, dining room, and principal living areas, strengthening the relationship between old and new and enhancing the day-to-day use of the house.
