11 and 12 Belmont

Project Details

Completion Date: 2018

This pair of late 18th-century townhouses was comprehensively restored and refurbished by Arrol Architects (now called Arrol Green). The project created new offices for the Catholic Diocese of Shrewsbury, Parish Meeting Rooms and en-suite accommodation for clergy and trainee priests.

A new basement extension was added to provide a café for parishioners and the wider public, and the scheme included extensive landscaping to form new outdoor areas, improved pedestrian links to the Cathedral and well-integrated car parking. Completed on time and to a high standard, the £1.3M project delivered modern facilities while maintaining the dignity and character of the original buildings.
