As Surveyor of the Fabric for York Minster, Andrew Arrol oversaw a range of projects both for the Minster itself and for other properties in the precinct, such as the 15th Century St William’s College, which now acts as a conference centre and restaurant.
The York Minster Revealed project included a major hard landscape regeneration scheme at the approach to the South Transept. The former A64 trunk road was replaced with a new Piazza incorporating a new ramp and stairing to permit full disabled access in to the Cathedral. The project was completed in June 2013 and has transformed the landscape setting of the Minster.
