Known as the “Cathedral of the Marches” this fine medieval grade I church dominates the town and can be seen for miles around. It possesses a fine collection of medieval stained glass, wood carvings, including the well known misericords and numerous monuments.
Arrol Architects are involved in inspecting the fabric and advising on a comprehensive programme of conservation and repair. The current work includes high level pinnacle repairs and re-roofing to the side chapels, with support from English Heritage.
Arrol Architects have also recently completed an options appraisal and feasibility study looking at how the interior can be used to its maximum effect for the benefit of both the church and the community. Heating and lighting improvements are under consideration including the installation of a bio-mass boiler system.
